NPS close to
acquiring land in Salt River area -
St. Croix Avis Who/ What: The National Park Service When: Tuesday, April 18, 2000 Where: Virgin Islands The
article is about the NPS buying the Salt River land. They have almost bought 106
acres the land at Salt River. They are going to buy the land for 700 thousand
dollars and the owner will also give 15
acres to the NPS.
The
land that the NPS is planning to buy 912 acres which 600 acres of the land is
under water. The reminding part of the land the NPS and Virgin Island Government
already owns. The NPS wants to us Salt River Marina as a visitor center but the
owner does not want to do it. |
